My name is Andreas, I’m 21 years old and I live in the town of Stavanger, located on the west coast of Norway. I try to work for a living, having dropped out of school the last year before university for a lot of reasons. I don’t plan to make a career out of anything, that much is at least certain.

Most of my free time is devoted to StarCraft 2 and Quake Live, which I enjoy playing and watching. I also do some programming and coding as well as a lot of tweaking and experimenting with anything computer-related. I’ve been using computers since I was 5 years old, and at that age I had a lot of nightmares about Doom, to put it that way. I enjoy music (mostly metal, electronica, classic rock and cheesy 80s stuff) and try to squeeze in an hour of guitar playing every day. I have a lot of other interests as well, but I tend to forget about them.

So, this is my English journal (call it what you want, I refuse to name it a blog). I hope you enjoy the content that’s being put here, and I’d love to get some feedback, either it’s a subject you’d like to hear my thoughts on, a film or album you’d like me to check out or if you’d simply like to tell me if I’m doing things the right way or not.

For the guitarists

I have two guitars, both are Ibanez 7-strings – Ibanez XPT-707FX and Ibanez RG-1527RB. They go through a Robert Keeley customized Ibanez Turboscreamer into a simple Vox VT100 combo amp. For recording I either use an Roland Edirol FA-66 and an amp/effects software (like Amplitube) or a Zoom H4 for recording directly from the amp. I use Dunlop Jazz III picks and Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 0.10-0.56 strings.
